Regular 4-point Virasoro conformal blocks with central charge c=1 are known to describe the general solution of Painlevé VI equation. I will discuss algebraic construction of irregular conformal blocks (with generic c) in different channels and explain how they can be used to derive connection formulas for Painlevé V functions.
